MSMU Student Giving Society
The MSMU Student Giving Society (SGS) is a group of student leaders dedicated to sharing MSMU traditions, connecting with alumnae, and supporting our culture of philanthropy. In partnership with the Department of Institutional Advancement and the Office of Alumnae Relations, SGS members serve as ambassadors to keep classmates informed, plan student/alumnae engagement activities, recognize and thank current donors, and help grow the Mount’s culture of philanthropy and service.
The date of the first meeting is Thursday, Sept. 23, at 12:00-1:00 pm. You have the option to attend in person at Chalon (Hannon Parlor- food provided!), or over Zoom. Please RSVP here. (If you want to be involved but can’t attend this meeting, please rsvp with “I can’t attend, but please send me info after the meeting”).
- Exclusive access to MSMU alumnae and events
- Build an alumnae network before you graduate
- Create a memorable student experience for your class
- Leadership opportunities and recognition for your service to the Mount
- Marketing, communications, fundraising, and event planning experience
SGS members represent the diversity of the student experience and serve as a liaison between the Alumnae Relations office and the student body:
Motivate: Model the Mount core values of leadership, service and philanthropy and share what you learn about longstanding Mount traditions. Encourage classmates to participate in student/alumnae programming and events. Motivate classmates to support the Mount and stay involved with the MSMU Alumnae Association.
Communicate: Share feedback with staff on classmates’ needs and accomplishments. Promote benefits and services available to students including Mount Connect for online networking and mentorship, Career and Professional Development programs and more. Seniors will help inform senior class programing as they prepare to join the MSMU Alumnae Association.
Support: Help classmates understand the importance of giving back to strengthen the culture of service and philanthropy at MSMU by participating in annual initiatives like the President’s Invitation to Serve and Mount Day of Giving. Leverage the digital fundraising platform to support the Senior Class Gift program.
- Attend a majority of the committee meetings and events ( approx. 2 meetings and 1 event per semester)
- Provide input and feedback during the planning of events and programs
- Participate in Mount Day of Giving by making a donation of any amount to the program of your choice
